Fevereon arts - Trigun Project
Trigun Project
7-19-04:
The first cylinder build was in pine & looked like crap due to the rings on it that striped horribly, the bullets weren't removable (just end caps, and I had painted them black ick), and didn't match the rest of the gun which was going to be in poplar (with walnut handle). Might use this for something else (don't know what though)
I took a friends suggestion while doing it over & made the bullets seperate, and made it looser on the rod so the cylinder would spin a lot more freely (the first one was very tight) I might go back & make a couple more bullets in case someone at Otakon decides to walk off with the lil buggers
I'm going to leave it its natural wood color for the most part,... might stain a part or two, but I'm NOT going to maul it with a can of silver spraypaint..
Yay for natural wood!

Approximately 15 hours into the project..
When I was painting the barrel it was late, and i wound up polyurethaning most of the gun..
Its still sticky, so I'll be working on the trigger mechanism, hammer, and the handle next, and saving the hinge for last.. hopefully the assembly'll be dry by the time I get to the hinge
the darker color wood is red oak... I need the hinge assembly sturdy, and its much harder than poplar.

Approx 19 hours into the project...
Well, i was planning on putting in 2 6 hour sessions on this thing today, but i was dragging around through the day horribly, and wound up getting in the woodshop at around 9:30 pm
put in about 6 hours again, but i was lagging in there as well, and only got maybe 3 hours of work done...
hopefully tommorow'll be better.. this thing NEEDS to be in the mail on Saturday at teh absolute latest.. i'd rather not spend extra on 2 day ups ugh.
please excuse the lack of really cool images.. its around 4:30 am here, and its crashytime...
